SAM4 Auscultation Manikins

Introducing SAM4 and SAM4 Plus, the latest evolution in auscultation training brought to you by Cardionics. Building on the success of its predecessors, including SAM Basic, SAM II and SAM 3G, SAM4 maintains its commitment to student engagement, self-study and comprehensive education by providing an extensive library of both normal and abnormal cardiac, respiratory, bowel and bruit sounds – all of the highest audio quality.

Smartphone or Tablet Manikin Control liberates the need for a laptop or computer. Through the new SAM4 app, compatible with both iOS and Android, users can seamlessly manage the manikin. This user-friendly interface simplifies the learning process, making it more accessible and convenient than ever before.

360-Degree Rotational Base makes it effortless to demonstrate auscultation points and precisely position the manikin as required, providing educators with greater flexibility.

Built-In LED Lights at All Auscultation Points that illuminate the correct positions for sound examination, ensuring that students can easily identify and focus on the appropriate areas for auscultation to boost precision and confidence in the learning process.

PAT Pediatric Auscultation Manikins

Pediatric growth and developmental issues require careful attention to recognize the signs and sounds associated with pediatric specific disorders. The PAT and PAT Basic manikins simulate the anatomy of a child with correct pediatric auscultation sites and are the perfect torso manikins for healthcare simulation and teaching the critical skill of pediatric auscultation.

PAT is easy to operate and out of the box can be connected and set to teach the desired cardiac, lung or bowel sounds. PAT contains close to 100 normal and abnormal cardiac, respiratory and bowel sounds of the highest quality. The manikins are light, portable and easy to carry for skills lab, classroom or autorium teaching. When the optional speaker is connected, educators can play relevant sounds for the entire class while demonstrating correct stethoscope placement. Both PAT and PAT Basic are available in light and dark skin tone versions.

SimScope Auscultation Training Stethoscope

The SimScope® Auscultation Training Stethoscope allows learners to auscultate Standardized Patients and manikins by placing RFID tag sensors on corresponding anatomical locations. It can be also used with Objective Structured Clinical Examination training (OSCE) or any other examination standard.

SimBP Simulator for Blood Pressure Training

Train the fundamental clinical skill of manual blood pressure measurement with the new SimBP™ by Cardionics. SimBP simulates a manual sphygmomanometer, a reliable instrument for measuring blood pressure to provide the most accurate readings of upper and lower pressure. Configurable features add an extra layer of realism to standardized patient scenarios and manikin-based simulation. SimBP has a soft, flexible inflation cuff and an authentic bulb and gauge for even more life-like training scenarios and various blood pressure conditions that are easily controlled in the software. Systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and heart rate can be manipulated. By utilizing the SimScope® stethoscope (included) students can listen to 5 Korotkoff phases and learn how to identify the Auscultatory gap. The simulator can also be used by instructors to test the students’ procedural skills for measuring systolic and diastolic values.

SimBP Features:

Bionic Hybrid Simulator

The Bionic Hybrid Simulator™ from Cardionics is a wearable auscultation shirt with a simulation software system for standardized patients which offers instructors a realistic and accurate solution for scenario simulations. The innovative approach of wearable simulation in patient care enables them to test their students’ skills without giving away signs and symptoms, while they practice the bedside interactions with a Standardized Patient. Most importantly, student engagement grows as they build confidence in their clinical skills.

With ECG, pulse points, the SimBP™ Simulator for Blood Pressure and auscultation of the heart, lungs and bowel, the BHS provides extensive training capabilities for Standardized Patient simulation. Instructors can control normal and abnormal conditions from a set of available parameters in real time. The BHS allows students to interact with a live patient while assessing signs and symptoms independently.

The BHS software is efficient and easy-to-use. In minutes, the instructor will be able to customize the patient’s parameters and set up the BHS™ wearable simulator according to their scenario. Moreover, with its own Wi-Fi hotspot, all devices are constantly interconnected so the instructor feels in control of the simulation at every moment.

SimShirt Auscultation System

The SimShirt System enables student-to-patient interaction in clinical skill training and is a critical tool for realistic and engaging medical education. The SimShirt is worn by Standardized Patients so that students can auscultate and diagnose the patient independently, without instructors having to give away physiological sounds. The result is increased confidence in their skills and bedside manners.

The SimShirt System is delivered with a compact laptop with the SimScope® software already installed and one set of 15 RFID tag sensor patches that can be placed on anatomically correct locations on either manikins or Standardized Patients. Each patch has a label indicating its dedicated anatomical location, to make sure the sounds are always heard from the correct location. Within the software, educators can pick any sound from the large Cardionics auscultation library, enabling their students to actively engage in patient auscultation practice and hands-on training. With the wireless SimScope training stethoscope, instructors will be able to instantly alter the sounds needed for their scenario directly from the laptop. If a student initiates an intervention that requires a fast change in condition, the built-in WiFi connectivity allows parameters to be altered on-the-fly.
